Are Introductions Necessary?

Over the past five years, I have been proud of the authentic cultivation of friends and followers I have gathered since launching my first public social media page in January of 2021. What started as a project to gain traction in my new business venture as a birth doula, quickly became an outlet of joy and creativity, as well as connection, as I grew into both motherhood and community work.

While social media channels like TikTok and Instagram have ignited my passion for creation (and let’s be honest, just general yapping) … the longer I make myself susceptible to the whims of the algorithm, the emptier the work becomes. Over time, I have become more and more exasperated with short-form content. While it is a great way to reach a large number of people; it lacks depth, variety, and nuisance… things I am desperate to aim for in today’s social and political climate.

I knew it was high time that I carved out my own corner of the internet that was just mine. A place where I can stop being held back by the faithless scrutiny of the internet but excitingly share more nuisance and opinion-based views just for the heck of the conversation. A place where I can creatively dump recipes, fashion, and sustainability tips without worrying that it doesn’t fit into my creator “niche”.
